Between Truth and Lies Ch. 14

Alex's P.O.V.
Kevin and Nick pulled me out of the house as Joe was thrown against the wall. I felt the tears come all too quickly as I saw the blood drip from Joe's mouth.
"W..why...is he k..k..k..killing him?" I asked burying my head against Nick's shoulder.
"Joe'll be fine Alex. Everything will be just fine." Kevin placed his hand on my hair and slid it down to my shoulder.
"Joseph you promised to me! You promised to your mother! To God! Why?! Joseph?! Why?!" Paul yelled from the inside. "She better damn well get an abortion!"
My eyes grew wide when i heard that. I heard Denise crying and my heart broke. She wanted the children just as much as i wanted them.
"She is not getting an abortion!" Joe yelled back. "She's already seven months and we're having twins! Theres no way in hell im letting you kill my children!"
I smiled through the tears as Joe stood up for what was his.
"Joseph!"
I peered through the screen door into the house. Joe was laying on the ground on his stomach, blood all over his body. Who knew a father would do that to their son..?
"Stop..." He groaned as Paul pulled him to his feet and threw him against the stairs.
"Go to your room. Stay there. I dont want to see you anymore." Paul's voice was dead flat and serious.
He looked towards me and gave me an evil glare. What did I do wrong? I wasn't the one who got myself pregnant. That was all Joe...I just helped...

I pushed Nick and Kevin off of me and pulled open the door. I shot across the room and up the stairs to Joe's room. Neither Paul nor Denise said anything to me.

"Joe!" I yelled as I burst into his room.
He was laying on the floor, well he was on his hands and knees, crying.
"Joe.." I bent down next to him and kissed his hair. "Everything will be alright love."
He laid me down on the floor and laid over me.
"How do you know..?" He whimpered.
"I have a feeling." I smiled and placed my hands on either side of his face. "Don't worry about anything, ok?"
He nodded and kissed me lightly.
"Come on..I don't like the blood all over you."
I cringed and pulled him to the bathroom. He smiled as i washed his face and pulled his shirt over his head.
"Damn..you're perfect.." I moaned. Just looking at him was a tease.
He chuckled and held me close.
"I love you Alex." He smiled.
I smiled and said it back. I felt more than loved.

After making sure he was safe in his room and clean, i went back downstairs. Paul had calmed down and was ready for all the answers. He called Joe back down and sat us in the living room.
"How many?" He asked.
"Two..twins.." Joe laced his fingers into mine.
"How many months?"
"Seven."
Joe was answering all the questions. I was still freaked out by how Mr. Jonas had acted. He was always a cheery man who never hit any of the boys. After a boat load of questions and answers, Paul smiled.
"Well, my first grandchildren. This will be and experience."
I sighed with relief as he finally accepted the fact that i was pregnant.
"Alright, Alex dear, you must be hungry and we have to keep the babies healthy." Denise pulled me off the couch and into the kitchen. Joe followed close behind.
"So Joe, you practically get killed by dad and you're not afriad of him?" Kevin walked in with Nick and Katelyn at his side.
Katelyn came and sat by me. We started talking to my children in my stomach as the boys held their conversation.
"No, why would i be scared of him? He's my father, for one and two, im stronger than him."
I rolled my eyes while listening to Joe.
"Wow, so full of himself." Katelyn giggled.
"I know..it's rather sad." I laughed with her.
"Hey, I can hear you." Joe wrapped his arms around me and laid his head on my shoulder. He hummed softly in my ear.
"You two are so cute!" Katelyn laughed.
"And us?" Nick walked over to her and kissed her passionately. "I think we're pretty cute too."
"Keep it in your pants Nicholas." Kevin sighed. "We don't need another pregnant girl."
Katelyn blushed a bright red and looked down.
"Oh no honey, please tell me you're not." My eyes went wide.
She shook her head.
"I'm not sure yet...I have to take another test first."
"Katelyn!" I hopped off my chair and hugged her. "Congrats! But you're so young."
"I know...I hope the next test says 'no.'"
I nodded.
"Me too...but if it says 'yes,' congratulations."
She smiled weakly. She was pregnant. I had a feeling she was.
