http://www.kksmarts.com/ Many SEO experts advice that you should not to use java script on your web pages because the search engines cannot follow the links in the java script menus. This means that a lot of your site could go undetected by the search engines and those pages will not appear in any search results. In other words, you will miss out on traffic you should get!

However java menus are popular with many people for navigating around a website. So what's the best way to keep both your website visitors and the search engine spiders happy at the same time.

Mike Seddon from KKSmarts explains how you can have your Java Menu Cake and eat it!

  • Hi Carla,

There might be a trick but I am not aware of one. You see I don't look for "tricks" when it comes to SEO. If you try to game Google all that happens is you are building your SEO on shakey foundations.

You are far better off building quality content with a search engine friendly menu structure. Keep it simple.

The real benefits will be in the links you get back to your website and good quality content will always attract good links.

    Cheers

  • Hi KkSmarts,

Somebody told me about a trick to get Javascript benefits and SEO benefits. I think there is some way to embed the HTML links within the javascript. Have you heard anything about this?

    thanks

    Carla
