Please comment, tell me how you thought it sounded.

Give a man 10 years of unemployment and he can create anything,
I Have!, and its this New way to preserve older discs, film, tapes.

I was always appalled at the lack of Top end (treble) that most restored CD's
Of older material had, once i started mucking about with 78's I got it back

So hear for the first time the FULL range of frequency that is locked into each and every 78rpm disc.

Any if you like what you hear, Drop a line! you never know you might have some discs or know of someone with discs they'd like to hear properly.

Oh and Im a purist when it comes to the original sound on Disc, I love my MONO restorations as its the way nature intended them to be heard, These YOUTUBE restorations are in "Fake Stereo" an effect I created by pure accident due to a few broadcasters wanting me to "slapback reverb" them for ONAIR use, I went with another, Unique Method. heard here for the first time.

And those pure mono versions are on my blog, you get to choose from two versions, a "good" one and a Too Much Noise Reduced One "TMNR" !

who else gives you such choice, Oh and if anyone out there is Hiring at the moment,,,,, CD Companies? Archives? umm... Call centures?

  • do you have a turntable to play 16" transcriptions i have a one of glenn miller from toronto canada 01/24/42 where he's intereviewed let me know love to have it cleaned up

  • @spike6060 I sure do, and would be honoured to be able to transfer such a transcription, you could say 'a dream come true' am a HUGE Miller fan and the resason I got into transfering/restoring was the SOLE reason to spruce up Mr Millers Radio Bdcasts! So shoot me some email at 78rpm@iinet.net.au!

  • Very good restoration. I am also a collector and somewhat of a purist. I have sometimes tinkered with a fake stereo on my own restorations and have often gotten a very pleasing effect but I am also aware that a lot of people just don't care for the stereo. I don't mind hearing a little surface noise to preserve the high frequencies. Some of the worst restorations were done for those vintage series LPs in the 1960s and 1970s. More recent CD reissues are much improved.

  • @bsgs98 Thanks, it was a very poor disc to start of with, My prob is i spent a few years perfecting my equipment and didn't collect any 78's. Now I have the "perfect" set up Ill probably never transfer a 78 again. Its a crying shame.

Ive seen 2 78's this year, both Vic Sylvester!

  • Sounds good to me!

Yep A HMV pressing (Could be AU or UK one) part of a lot of 78's I transferred 5 years ago now, I never took proper "notes" from the label nor took pics of the label then.

Thanks, yep the ONLY thing that gets me annoyed at the moment is the lack of 78's, not seen any in a year. Today went to 25 junk shops, etc, nothing, Im getting people in thier early 20 now begging me in private youtube emails for my 78's!?!? and yet none of em want me to work on thiers?!?!?

  • @ade425mxy Ah, I get it - this is an HMV pressing (missed that initially). Sometimes (especially in the case of Victor) they took different takes of the same song and issued those different takes under different names.

Good to know that the fake stereo will go - the amazing work you're doing with these records doesn't need a thing to help enhance them. :)

  • @SwingMan1937

Nope Its "Here We Go Again" Im a bit of a miller collector and have around 20 versions of the band playing the tune!, Granted it Does sound a lot like Sun Valley Jump, But that's just laziness Ive suspected on Aranger Jerry Grey part.

Yeah these "Fakeroo stereos" was just me testing the waters of youtube land to see if anymore viewers would comment on my work. Not worked so far, So back we go to the original Mono Mixes.

  • Very nice job, really very impressive sound!!!

  • Outstanding sound & job (could definitely do without the fake stereo, though) - but, this is actually GM's "Sun Valley Jump".
