Recipe (Revised) :

1 cup softened butter
2 & 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 to 3 tablespoons of water (as needed)

Mix all ingredients with electric mixer. Add water only if needed. Form into a ball, let stand in fridge for half an hour.

  • I grew up with these in Montana, called pasties and made with ground beef, shredded (or finely diced) potatoes and onions. They're Welsh originally and miners (both in Montana and Wales) would take these to the mines each day for their lunch!

  • @jetsnowhaven Very cool ! My husband is Mexican and he calls these enpunadas. We called them turnovers when I was a kid. :-)

  • you can use the pillsbury pie crist to do the same thing in case you like convience

  • @1965blaze I'm working with an extremely tight budget. Bag of flour at Aldi = $1.49 and I can get a ton of things out of it. Pie crusts = $2.00 or more and will only go so far. But if you got the budget for it, it's a quick alternative.

  • This is a great idea! I love hot pockets but I would love to be able to add different ingredients to it. I am going to try this sometime.

  • Yumm! I like the broc n cheese and meat idea too. I used to make these with eggs cheese and breakfast fixins when I was a teen lol :-)
