there is nothing 'degrading' to hinduism here. people dance and sing songs to kali and other matajis all across gujarat, just because there not dancing in a circle or not 'indian' doesn't mean there worship is any less valid, god dwell within every soul, and i feel god is very much with them.

In my view, many of the movements of this dance show reverence for Kali, humility to her power, & the relief & calm that come after Kali's storm. The movement of the partners moving sideways & away from each other, symbolize disentegration & then integration. This is one of hundreds of Dances of Universal Peace circles around the world, celebrating the unity of religious ideals. In each meeting, dances inspired by many different traditions are taught. How wonderful that all paths are honored!
