My Fuel Injected 1986 Mustang with a stock untouched factory built GT40P 1998 Explorer bottom end and heads puts down 284HP and 303LB/FT. Car has gone as quick as 12.56@108MPH before the Moates Quarterhorse Tuner and consistent 12.60's in mid summer heat since playing with the tunes, still ALOT to learn about tuning the EEC-IV.

  • I'm not sure on that one bud, I know there are guys tuning the SD eecs but not sure what ones. Best advice I can give you is either to check out EECTUNING dot O-R-G or eecanalyzer dot n-e-t/, which is Clint's site, he is the developer of the best tuning software for the QH. Binary Editor. Good luck.

  • what is this Moates Quarterhorse, i also have a five oh with p heads n im looking for max hp possible with my setup, is that something like the anderson pms??

  • @BigBoyd06 Sorry I didn't see your response, somehow it was flagged as spam. The PMS is a piggyback that plugs in between the eec and the harness and you don't need a laptop since everything is self contained. The quarterhorse is a programmable memory "chip" that plugs into the j3 service port on the eec and you program it through various available softwares and the use of your laptop. It stays in while you flash it unlike a typical chip you have to bench flash.

  • Those are impressive numbers for that engine arrangement. It is very similar to mine, I am planning to buy the Quarter Horse software and try to up my performance. Can you shed some light on more car details. Such as injector size, MAF size, and cam? Just some pointers to get me closer to those numbers. Thank you, clean car btw!

  • Thanks, I have Professional Products upper/lower, TB and EGR spacer, 24lb FRPP inj., AFM B-21 cam, trick flow valve springs and PR's and a Hybrid 70MM Cobra MAF with a9l electronics (eBay special) , when it made this pull I hadn't tuned in my maf curve yet so I was running a stock a9l curve, just cheated to get my afr good for the pull using the wot multiplier. I have since seen how far off the stock curve it really was. The QH is DEFINETELY worth the money even using EEC EDIT for now w/o D/L.

  • with the quarterhorse would I be fine with sticking with my speed density system. It would seem almost pointless to switch to MAF if I were to get quarterhorse.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • @TooSlo86 Realistically I wish I could reach those rear wheel numbers but I dont know if I can, you seem to know more secrets than I do but Im not surpised. I am not familiar with the a9l electronics you mention, or much Anderson stuff. Im running ported explorer intake mani and p heads, e cam, Prof. Prod. throttle body and spacer, C&L MAF housing and inlet tube, and stock injectors. I wonder if I should up to 24 lb injectors. Idk the potential hiding in my untuned car, but any pointers?
