nice ! so the only thing they need in addition to what they scrounge up is corn ? I assume cracked or ground corn ? What about calcium ? I might build something similar but my acreage isn't real big and I don't want them shitting all over by the house so I'll probably have to have a fenced run and just move it every few days.
hi i heard about this via an interview on radio nz with michael pollan about his book 'The Omnivores Dilemma'...which led me to the egg mobile concept from the organic farm he visited for his book. cool additional video concept....cool, simple, sustainable, happy chickens...grassfed..yay! if we're gonna eat them, let them be happy before they die! like us.

We just completed a feature-length documentary entitled Mad City Chickens. It's on urban people that keep backyard hens.
It seems like the egg mobile would work well even in the suburbs...a smaller version.
