@darkmachete Hendrix apparently played God Save the Queen too, but it was only during a warm up session so the story goes, and was sadly never recorded. I think it was during a session in a studio somewhere in the UK with The Animals. I may be wrong, been a while since I read up on it lol.

@sirhill77 Nobody knows the true origins of the music, there's a number of theories, many of them equally as probable. Nobody knows for sure though. What is known though is that many countries started to adopt the music (and name, replacing King where appropriate of course) after England started to use it as their National Anthem. In-fact the English were one of (if not the) the first nations to associate a piece of music with national identity, officially at least.
