This my first string quartet, written in sibelius 5 using garritan personal orchestra instruments. Hope you enjoy it. I realize the double stopping by the violins on the last page is too difficult and i'll be rewriting that. COMMENTS WELCOME, hope you enjoy

  • hi... do u mean this song is played entirely by the notation software sibelius? can you express the dynamics, or speed (accelerando, rit.. etc) using notations and the software will play it for you?

are the strings built in from sibelius? or is it from other library?

    thanks!

  • hi sorry for the late reply, the song is played entirely by sibelius. u can be very expressive with sibelius but to 'humanize' the performance takes time and skill that i dont have. the strings are from garritan personal orchestra

  • one of the most beautiful chamber-pieces I´ve heard! You are amazing!! :D

  • thank you very much for your comment, im glad you enjoyed it

  • Those sound fonts are terrible. Good piece though. But I would extend/color the major V-I cadences at the beginning, those are far to common/expected.

  • im not all that contemporary, i tend to enjoy the V-I. although when u say colour, aside from V7 what wud you suggest? and yeh...shame about the sounds.

  • I just sent you a PM!

  • very good work. Was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly impressed. very nice variation in mood/style, usage and interplay of different voices, rhythms, everything was great really. I love especially the V-I cadences that make me hope the music's not over yet!

  • Oh my God is beautifully! It sounds like a profesional compositor.

  • This is superb! I've had it stuck in my head for days. The theme established in the beginning reminds me of something that would be in a Miyazaki film. Very adventurous and magical. You're an extremely skilled composer, keep up the good work!

  • Quite nice.. How old are you?

  • How do you learn to compose for string quartet? I want too, but I can't figure how :) many thanks!

  • most compositions i... dont get impressed by, but this one is actually REALLY good. i am very pleased with this:)

  • I like listening to this a lot! I keep it in my playlists so it pops up every now and then.

I'm guessing you take lessons for composition? I compose a bit, but I'm certainly not as good as you are.

  • Oh god... That was BEAUTIFUL! I was not expecting that!

  • Very colorful and beautiful, you must be a skilled composer :)))
