eZeebike - Along the Silk road

Roads are the pulsing veins of a country. In today's China,automobiles in the millions shuttle people and goods across the middle kingdom and the figures are growing.

The 318 national road stretches the east, west width of China. Traffic on this vital road is taut and now with heavy autumn rains pouring over the hills and mountains, the outlook is grim.

Where we were, pushing west from XiAn. Hundreds of vehicles are stuck in gridlock over a mountain pass on both sides, the majority of them trucks carrying cargo well beyond their capacity load limits - a apt symbol for an swelling economy.

Thankfully, the eZee bikes are light, agile and tough enough to traverse up and downhill the miles of loose mud and gravel.We left the traffic mess behind us but for many.. it was going to be a rough night in the middle of nowhere.

Traffic jams are impartial nightmares - businessmen, vacationers and people who simply want to get home.
