This week, we kick off a new series "Fresh Ideas" that focuses on automotive inovations. Our first subject, Tesla Motors. Chat with Donna and follow her automotive adventures on http://www.facebook.com/theauto123show !
@normalais keep trying... keep trying what!? I don't care what you do! I WILL BE installing a diesel generator as a back up system; if all else fails then I will still have power, heat and water. In addition my insurance will be cheaper because no matter what, my food won't spoil, the pipes won't freeze and the alarm system will always work. When you order the lumber and all these things to build your new home, how exactly do you think all the supplies are going to be delivered to the site?
@normalais I'm going to install solar panels, wind generators and a geothermal enviroment system as well! But I am going to attach a diesel generator with a 800 litre capacity as a back up also. I will be upgrading from a V8 to a 12 cylinder in the near future and premium fuel is expensive! Cool E-Car /watch?v=2RGOJw5G6xY
@puffrooster I'm building a house now and in my house everything will run on electricity from solar panels and wind generators. heating and cooling will be geothermal. And I'm not the only one.
@normalais where do you think electricity comes from; coal plants, nuclear reactors and the odd hydro dam providing the river doesn't dry out! I don't hate this car. It is practical if you live in a metropolotin area without extreme weather, but outside the city this car is useless. I suggest you view an independant review of this car...

For the price of a Tesla, I can have a Z06; this technology has a long way to go.
@NotSStock it is not bull shit. batteries are far more better for the environment than fossill fuels. besides, batteries can be recycled almost 100%. oil can't.
So we are just going to keep burning every drop of fuel till there is none left and then what? If we do not start trying some new stuff now, how will we be able to improve it. Unfortunately, there are many people that think like you. What a shame.

"Sorry, the power is down so you can't charge your Tesla, sir!"
"What, I gotta get going!"
"Well, we have a diesel generator. I can put some fuel in and charge her up that way. It should only take about 14 hours."
"Uh, okay...."
"And $300.00..."
