From the album of the same name. A languid, at times haunting piece of space-jazz for late nights. The picture features the intriguing calabash nebula.

R.I.P. to the great man and bless him on whatever cosmic wave he's riding, Sun Ra was truly original.

  • One of the finest albums ever made.

  • Whenever I feel sad or lonely or anything other than good, all I have to do is play Sun Ra. The sound of his synthesizers and pianos together with those African/Egyptian drums and Marshall Allen's oboe or flute or alto, will elevate me to a place I'd like to remain for eternity. If you ever had the pleasure of seeing him play with his Arkestra or even just solo, you'll be blessed by the most delightful artistry, humor and beauty that's just plain indescribable. He's a deity.

  • @grat130 Same thing

  • I don't always remember him. At least I have him in my head bouncing around like the solar waves in our little itty bitty Universe. When I do remember him it grabs me and I end up posting so many songs on Face Book my friends don't recognize me. I guess they forget me, at least I'm in their head bouncing around like solar waves...

  • @kenneth3105 speak fo yo self

  • SUN RA WAS WAY AHEAD OF THE REST OF US

  • woW,beautiful

  • It's no wonder why Madlib digs Sun Ra so much ... I mean, are you listening to this right now? Do you hear what I'm hearing? There's so much freedom in this composition that the ears stay busy ... trying to decipher why your mind can't get enough of the way the chord changes a couple of clicks earlier than you're expecting it to and then BOOM ... you're lost in the mesmerizing noise that is this masterpiece. This is not of this planet. This is way out there ... Peace

  • Did Sun use a Rhodes piano or something else on these recordings?

  • @micaofboca like right now im feeling a lil blue! this generates and grounds me ! JUSt POEticaly vibely !
