The way ive done it is play the bassline till its 2nd nature and sing it till its 2nd nature. And listen to the recording till you know it by heart

The easiest way to sing and play is to learn the bass line and the lyrics separately. Learn them so well that you can just sing the lyrics and play the bass line without even thinking about it. then try slowing the song down and playing the bass whilst singing. keep practising like this until you feel comfortable then speed the song up to its original tempo. this seems to work (for me at least).

if lyrics and bassline are on different beats it helps to write bassline and lyrics ower it, like this word is on that bass note, that wort is in that pause. and then practice very slowly

I'll try it, dude, thanks. This is something I've been struggling with. I fronted a band years ago and just picked up bass in the last year. So I thought 'singing and playing should be simple, right'? WRONG! Bass is so rhythym oriented and singing really isn't. Hopefully this helps.
