Peak oil expert Richard Heinberg lectured at Aucklnad University to a packed theatre last week during a visit to New Zealand to talk about the future of oil production.

Infonews.co.nz reporter Fraser Mills spoke with Richard after the lecture about how changes in oil production will affect New Zealanders.

  • I totally agree. how can we raise consciousness toward these ends? the sun is FREE. all other species run on it. we used to. we can again and still have a decent quality of life. do let's wake up.

  • Very soon it will be considered mad to criminal to drive Hummers and big SUVs in suburbia. We need electric cars, trains and buses now - all are being made small scale but need to be mass produced - in the factories currently making the dinosaur vehicles.

    Save the oil for big tractors for farming and planes for transport! Our grandchildren will thank us.
