Tibet was a feudalistic/serfdom society before 1950. Dalai was an aristocratic slave owner. He speaks of democracy now, but in actuality, he never supported democracy for Tibet prior to 1961, 2 years after the Chinese government abolished Tibetan slavery in 1959.

You think the riots now are random acts of violence? This is the same shit Dalai pulled in 1959, 1989. He's simply taking advantage of the situation (months before the olympics) to fatten up his coffers. He represents 1 out of 5 sects of Tibetan Buddhism, and by no means THE VOICE of the Tibetan people.

Those outside chanting for an independent Tibet are simply ones who lost out. That is to say aristocratic landowners/lamas. Why don't you go to Tibet and interview a few ordinary Tibetans. They will give you an entirely new perspective.

Are you so naive as to believe every tidbit that is force fed to you by the western media? I'm not worried about freedom for Tibetans. Although their rights are restricted, it's no different from any other ethnic group in China. It is after all a communist state.

Take a look at how a cropped out picture can tell a whole different story: http://picture.talkcc.net/0,0803/6538...
