  • @skiddo94 Well yeah, i don't know it either. Yes, definitely!

  • Awww you could see how NERVOUS and shy Eddie was here.

  • @mavcra I haven't seen or heard that performance, so I guess you could be right too. I was just basing what I thought off of the interviews I had seen. Either way though, it's an amazing song, one of my all time Pearl Jam favorites.

  • @skiddo94 I don't know it either, but I remember one time in Chile I guees, Eddie sang at the end "I didn't need you, I didn't need you to make my dreams come true" or something like that, so it seems it was for somebody specific. Just wondering, go PJ!

  • On the same scene as Nirvana that days in Seattle ... history is written that time ; )

  • @shelbykln I don't think it's about anyone specific. In interviews Eddie says that the song is supposed to be sung from the perspective of a man who is sad about a loved one he lost.

  • @shelbykln Nobody really knows who he is singing about . Definitely someone who is hard for him to let go of. I'm guessing he wrote it when he was in his late teen years. An amazing song. My favorite from PJ. Almost, everybody has that one person that they've known in life, that could've been should've been but never was. This song gets me through those black thoughts.

  • Jeez...I didn't know back then, I'd be 39, coming off a six year relationship and relating to this song just as I did 20 years ago. And now, just like then, I find reason to keep going because of music like this. Thanks guys.

  • who is he singing about in Black?

  • How awesome to hear my fav PJ song back when they were still in diapers!!
