8th St. East (Palmdale, CA)

Part of the "California Signals: RRxingrick Style Collection".

This crossing in Palmdale, CA is on a short spur line used by Union Pacific. This crossing gets activated about 3 times a day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This crossing has very old 8" lights and two US&S Teardrop mechanical bells.

Unfortunately today, one of the teardrops is stolen, leaving only one teardrop in service.

A WCH mechanical bell was put in place of the stolen Teardrop sometime in 2006. A video will be available soon from the Volume 4 series coming soon.
