Tree falls on land rover while driving... in the snow... in a storm...

Driving on Elk Mountain Road in Mendocino National Forest just north of Clear Lake in California. Driving a 2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 with Bottorf front bumper, bottorf sliders, RTE 2 inch lift. Full size roof rack and kragen HID off road lamps.

After the impact we were surprised to find fairly little damage. Only shoved in the roof a little and broke the rear alpine windows. Didn't even break the rear sun roof! Took about an hour and a half to get the 2 30 foot trees off the roof. Broke our winch in the process! Damn scary, but neither of us were hurt.

If we have learned anything, its to not drive in the worst storm we have seen in nor-cal in years..... or install more armor....

Well after that we got out to inspect the damage and found a 2 30 foot pine trees balancing on the roof. We spent about an hour and a half trying to get the thing off the roof with what tools we had on hand. After all that we were able to safely drive home. This thing is a beast.
