My Grievances Jack Murray 10/10/2011
I am protesting because I have witnessed our federal government violate our bill of rights and constitution. Our government has committed multiple crimes against, we the people by...
1. Engaging our military in a worldwide, offensive, strategic, empire building campaign, (without senate approval) whilst manipulating the public perception to believe it is in the name of defense (Destroying our reputation worldwide as non-interventionists, Creating more harm to our national defense by inciting violence overseas).
2. Violating our first amendment by preventing people to peaceably gather in public space by designating them to specific areas using brute force where we remain unseen and unheard.
3. Allowing our currency to be controlled by a private organization (the fed) with no oversight allowing them to print as much money as they want devaluing each dollar in circulation, and taking away the gold standard further debasing our purchasing power as individuals.
4. Imposing illegal means of taxation not approved by the constitution.
5. Violating our Fourth Amendment by illegally entering people's homes, businesses, and persons without reason or warrant, destroying personal property without retribution.
6. Violating our Fifth Amendment by holding innocent people for hours and sometimes days without charges keeping them from taking care of their personal duties.
7. Violating our Sixth Amendment by creating and enforcing laws that allow an American citizen to be detained indefinitely without a jury trial.
8. Violating our Tenth Amendment by enforcing federal laws that states and cities have voted against. Arresting owners and employees of medical marijuana dispensaries in states where approved by vote.
9. Violating our Fourteenth Amendment by making certain plants and herbs illegal to grow prohibiting a free market for certain commodities denying liberty and denying that which all of nature is a part of, life.
I protest because of the following crimes of the majority but not all of our politicians.
1. Ignoring scientific data presented to them even going through great lengths to cover up certain research projects.
2. Receiving bribes from private interests.
3. Violating their oath of office by passing unconstitutional laws.
4. Leaving aids and secretaries to write their bills for them and sometimes not even knowing what is in their own legislation.
5. Not being involved with all classes of people, engaging and consulting only the top wealthy class.
6. Voting yes on bills they did not even read.
I protest because the top 10% of people control 90% of the wealth. I am the 99%. We will be heard. Freedom is about being able to start a business from scratch without countless "requirements" "fees" and "paid inspections" standing in the way. The founding fathers designed our government so we could grow produce and sell goods and services with minimal taxation. When you include the fees for permits, required certifications and required insurance into taxation it is truly almost 100% in taxes people starting businesses have to pay (varying greatly on the type of business). Corporations and big business stifle true growth because it creates a generic standard for any good or service making it impossible for a small business to thrive in the market. They monopolize and find loopholes through the law to keep it from falling under the term, Monopoly. Now we are faced with only a few identical giant monster corporations to choose from, instead of plenty of unique local businesses. They sell us genetically modified food without any testing. They poison our water with fluoride. All for one, then One for all!

Ron Paul has never been corrupted by anybody, everything he supports and doesn't support is because of his personal choice based off the constitution. If America never strayed from our constitution we would not be in this mess today.

@jamesmcrews I believe he is a step forward to show the rest of the politicians that we want small government not interfering with our personal choices or economy and we want all the troops home. But I believe there needs to be more regulations preventing nationwide corporate chains from becoming monopolies so the market stays open to everyone and Ron Paul is not an advocate of that he is not perfect but he is the best out of all the candidates to choose from.

@jamesmcrews I think that in order for things to change we have to take steps to get there. It wont be fixed overnight with the election of a new president. But I like Ron Raul because he is and advocate of sound money, small constitutional government, states rights and he wants the people to take care of themselves not the government taking care of them. He does not have all the solutions but he has voted No, on all the bills that I didn't agree with.

Your grievances are very sound, and you are right. However, is Ron Paul a real alternative? He is just as bought and sold by the corporations. The government in itself is not the corrupt element. They are corrupted by lobbying, special interests, and the idea that "money is speech." Libertarians will simply continue these policies in an extreme manner. Don't be led astray by their promises. But keep up the fight, read up. You know what's wrong, and you're almost there with your solutions.
