  • where is the results video???

  • @dwshetler Soon come mon. In the editing phase.

  • Hi, I've been waiting for the results on this test before doing my new deck. I read on here that a new video was coming in two days, a month ago, but I have not seen a new video or article about it.

Please let us know what does and doesn't work. I'm hoping that endorsements are not playing a part in this.

    Sincerely,

    John

  • @0400lumper I taped the followup video. It will be posted soon. I talked about the results and identified the products in a newsletter at my website about a month ago. You do subscribe to the AsktheBuilder newsletter, don't you????? If not, you now can see why you should. :->

  • ... I've been waiting weeks for the results & can't stand it anymore !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @canoelicker Coming!!!! I'll do the video this week.

  • Good test. If the original product was by Behr - I have had experience with their sealer and their stains......they dont always perform well but at least Behr stands behind them & tries to make it right when there are issues. The second "clear" sealer you used reminds me of a cataract on an eye.....the third "clear" sealer was the nicest looking - to my eye. Good luck with the long term results. All the best

  • Hi Tim,

I live on the westcoast of british columbia and just finished building and staining a new deck with Sikkens. One interesting thing I learned from the cedar suppliers was that they all said - "Never ever sand cedar!!!! It will ruin it's ability to properly accept stain and over time, your stain will fail and not protect the cedar as the stain manufacturer may have intended". Perhaps this is the cause to your problems??

  • I hope you didn't pollute the fish!

  • Thanks Tim. I am about to begin redoing my deck and ran across the defy product so cant wait until I see the results.

  • I signed up for your newsletter. Thanks for that service! Also I read your disclosure policy and knowing how you deal with vendors makes me feel better about your recommendations. Your the best I've found online for information that I feel like I can trust.

    John

  • @AsktheBuilder tim hurry up with the video, maybe tim went to far in the future...
