  • Subaru power? Is that from the flat 4 EJ20 engine? Same as in my impreza???

  • @JohnnyvolvoT5 EJ22 like in Legacy

  • holy crap. that thing would scare the crap out of me to land. I love the aircraft, however it looks very hard to take off and land with.

  • @iostream999 Take offs are easy, really. But landings you have to be paying attention and be on your game.

  • @docrw Don't you have to fly the quickie onto the ground practically? There was a guy that got himself a Quickie here at my field of KROS and he botched the landing so incredibly hard. He flared way too high, stalled, snapped one of the forward canards, veered off to the side and only came to a stop when he finally took out about 6 runway lights.

  • @AmericanAviator Don't know who that was. But the landings aren't for the timid. See the video to the right "plane crash hwy which is what happened to one of mine after an engine quit.

  • Looks like an X-Wing fighter.

    "Use the force, Luke."

  • very cool video and I like the sound effects. We have one of these planes at our airport and it's fast...

  • Came real close to building one of these in 1983. Built the building first, sent away for the kit info at Rutan Aircraft, then managed to get my wife pregnant with our first. Oh well, maybe in another life.

  • gosh its as wide as the runway

  • I could go for a quickie...

  • Maybe a longer run way....

  • what do you need to do to a car engine to make it suitable for flight? oil and gas pressure would be the main problem right?

  • @docrw your legacy does not have heaters for the fuel so probably not exactly the same.

  • I don't understand the need for a negative dihedral on the wings?

  • need to use v tail helps straight well, and short wheels.
