Airgun maintenance and cleaning is made simple with the RWS All-in-one airgun maintenance kit. With clear instructions and all the necessary components to complete each step, this kit is a must have for anyone with a spring airgun.

  • what about guns with leather piston seals? 3-in-1 oil bad for spring guns?

  • @kumquatsta

You need to follow the directions given by the manufacturer. I'm not terribly up with how to deal with leather seals. All my guns have the modern seals.

  • hello Rick, I will admit to being alittle lax with barrel cleaning on any of my air rifles, but I do add some crosman pelletgun oil on the spring and in the chamber when needed. The idea being the build up of lead in the barrel would give tighter groups as the pellets would be constricted slightly, but of course this would mean less grab from the rifling grooves. I have friends who never clean their .22LR for this same reason with mixed results.

    Cheers

It is a mixed bag of results.. my thinking is this.. as the pellet moves through a dirty barrel, lead is stripped from the pellet. Even if only in minute amounts, this causes the pellet to be out of balance when spinning, like a tire weight. You don't need much to make a very big difference. More lead in the barrel usually means more lead is removed as the pellet heads down the bore. At least that is my theory.

    Cheers

    Rick

there are a lot of people with a lot of opinions out there. I used the RWS kit with and RWS rifle for a reason. They make the gun, they make the Kit. I figure they are the ones that know best on how to maintain it. I will say that following this method will not hurt your spring gun. On the other hand, it is also true that these are essentially "maintenance free" for the most part. It is all very subjective.

    Clear as mud no?

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb I have read on various sites that regularly cleaning the barrel and all other parts of a springer are not necessarily needed to keep it shooting, just taking care of the chamber is needed.

    Is this true?

  • Nothing wrong with a little maintenance.

  • Rick, Pyramidair has an app for smart phones which is real cool. It has calculaters for just about everything one would use in airguns.

  • @kriegmeister3000

Glad this video has helped. I enjoyed putting this one together.

  • It's been a long time my friend. I have both a rifle and pistol that are springers. I will use this information to keep them up to par.
