*** Be patient, the action doesn't start until 1:47 **
What would happen if Yellowstone Lake inundated the geyser system and the roof of the magma chamber?
This experiment was a success. I was able to pressurize the can by having the ice melt over rim of can, creating an airtight seal and trapping gases. As you can see it takes a while for system to become volitile, but once the pressure rises and water is introduced, there is a chain reaction and the ice cap (representing crust and lake)is thrown up as liquid(hot cooking oil, representing magma) erupts. The oil was thrown up to 3 feet in the air. At 00:57 there is evident lifting of the ice, and it becomes regular and subsides for short periods. This is representive of swarm earthquakes. This continues until 1:47 when the is a sudden lift followed by large pop at 1:49. This starts the chain reaction. The eruption throws material straight up and there is a rebound effect when liquid is emptied from chamber.
You may have noticed me laugh. It was nervous laughter. I thought I was going to burn my face off. And I was shocked because it worked exactly as I thought it should.

  • As Frank Caliendo (doing John Madden) would say:

"Here's a guy who's not getting his maintenance deposit back" XD

  • Since I am a student of truth I cannot deny your observation. I have been harder on my mortal vessel than Axel Rose has been with his hotel rooms.

  • I would have loved to know exactly what the experience was... what you exactly did to achieve that result... it's not very clear =/

  • Check in more details just under title.

  • Excellent videos, very excellent.

I wanted to share with you something about the volcano eq's. In January, we are closest to the sun in our orbit, not hemispherecally, but orbit wise. January 4th, this year. The swarms start or tend to be their worst in the early days of January. Also, I found that there is a link between the most intense activity, when the sun is directly over head, or just passing by, and when it is directly behind the caldera, nightside, 2-3 am and pm.

  • i see you dressed up for the occasion
