  • Very nice vid, thanks for posting, my office is in front of the castle where Friederike used to live before: Blankenburg....

  • Πολύ όμορφο! Very nice..

  • Queen Frederika held my mother as baby in her arms. She said she was a beautiful baby and gave her an account book with some money. those days people were poor and the queen passed by our village on her travels and so that happened...Now my mama is 55 and is married my pa who is Italian....of course the greek side of the family was not very pleased at the beginning. They often tell funny stories of how they first met in secret because my greek granny was quite a beast... :-)

  • Both titles are correct. Her father was ruling Duke of Braunschweig & Lüneburg, but the family is also the Royal Family of Hanover, which was annected in 1866 by Prussia. The family went into exile, but never gave up the claims to the Hanovarian throne.

Today's head of the Hanovarian is Prince Ernst-August, husband of Princess Caroline of Monaco.

  • Hanover is the former Kingdom's name and Brunswick-Lüneburg is the Royal Family's name. Like Spain (Kingdom's name) and Borbón (Royal Family's name). Her short style (before marriage) was: HRH Princess Friederike of Hanover; the complete style was: HRH Princess Friederike of Hanover, Duchess of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Princess of Great Britain and Ireland. After marriage: HRH Princess Frideriki of Greece and Denmark and HM Queen Frideriki of the Hellenes, Princess of Denmark.

  • I've seen Frederika referred to as Frederika of Hanover and as Frederika of Brunswick-Luneburg. Are both of these names correct? Thanks.

  • merci beaucoup Storicus

  • Bellissimo documento!!!!Grazie!

  • Oh it was such a lovely day! The bride was so perfectly beautiful. Athens was a pure joy!
