http://AtticFoil.com/radiant-barrier-dust-info.htm - How dust can Effect Radiant Barrier Foil Insulation

This video explains how dust rarely has any impact on the effectiveness or radiant barrier.

Because AtticFoil is double-sided even if the top layer is covered with dust, the bottom layer or foil will work off the emissivity quality pure aluminum foil.

  • Yes, Aluminum is a little tricky. It is an excellent conductor of conductive heat (this is why we cook with aluminum cookware) AND an and excellent reflector or radiant heat. (this is why we put foil on top of a turkey to keep it from burning on the outside before the inside of the bird cooks) Aluminum is only surpassed in the ability to reflect radiant heat by Silver & Gold.

  • Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat.
