From 1986's Gun-Shy. Like many songs from The Screaming Blue Messiahs, I have no idea what this one is about.

  • I was in a band that covered this song. If you give it an inch it will make it your ruler.

  • I was also in a band that covered this song. I was the singer and had no idea what the hell I was singing, I just loved this beat and I could say Suck It Suck and see, Suck and see! If it's good for you then it's good for me... I definitely took it to be about sex. But the music is what is was all about. These guys were amazing!

  • I think it's about Thanksgiving dinner

  • ;0 oh, now find first comment 'straight from the man-ager's mouth'! ;0 that's funny, i see! likes being able to read a whole different meaning out of it though...

  • p.s. still find the 'pyramids' line mysterious, but that might mean the pyramid printed on the back of our money. ;0

  • ;0 takes a stab at it. hungary was a soviet-bloc country during the cold war years, and the us secretly engaged in some odd/probably illegal trading of arms and stuff, sometimes finding the us or its allies fighting itself with its own weapons. ;0 it's such a punk-militaristic-sounding song, and they had such pencheant for writing brit's view of the us - lol in our movies when some hero is saying 'suck on this' theyre usually blowing someone's brains out! ;0

  • 'holiday head', think it common for soldiers to call tour of duty as a 'holiday' or also an allusion to various times in recent history a culture's revered day-off holiday is opportunity for the enemy to attack.

  • suck on that, dummy! ya holiday head! it must be soviet-edged it certainly wasn't nothin you did tell it to the money in the bank the citizens' money insured me tell it to the money in the bank shoot it to the money, show it to the man you ever been to hungary? i sure have i woke up starin at the walls i was talkin up a blue-streak and listenin to bird calls i could've been in a suburban home and slide down heaven's falls... i go round and round in pyramids just for the good of it all
  • holiday heads are all around in the city and in the town and every time i turn around there's a holiday head tryin' to race me down and while we do in their holiday heads i still think we can straighten them out! so for all you love, you say - no need to even talk about suck'an... suh'i-kin see! so i can see! if its good for you, then its good for me! and it certainly wasn't nothing you did.
  • best song on the album for me because of the bass beat and great breaks great album special talent here ..

  • I wrote my lyric interpretation on hairydot61's video of this. From what it sounds like, Carter could be attacking the suburban culture of the U.S./U.K and/or making subtle sexual innuendos. So its either an anti-tourist tirade or a major sex song. Either way, I love the way this guy plays guitar and this band gets better every day. They're truly timeless.
