Jim Lee (Kirkwood, NY) was a three-year letterwinner at the guard position for Syracuse from 1972-1975. After co-captaining the freshman team at SU to a 17-1 record while averaging 18.8 points per game, Lee helped Syracuse to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and the Final Four in 1975, both firsts for the school's basketball program.

His career free throw percentage of 85.9% ranks #3 on the all-time list at Syracuse. Lee was known for being a deadly perimeter shooter, and his ability to come up big in late game, clutch situations endeared him to the Orange fanbase.

Lee's outstanding play in Syracuse's unlikely run to the Final Four in 1975 earned him a spot on the All-Tournament first team that year. Against heavy favorite North Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen, team co-captain Lee nailed an 18 foot jumper with five seconds left to give Syracuse the lead, a shot that still stands as one of the most important baskets in the annals of SU hoops. He would finish the game with 24 points. Lee led all scorers in the tournament that year with 119 points in five games.

In 1975, Lee would be named a Helms Foundation All-American and an ECAC All-East All-Star, and would be given the Lew Andreas MVP Award at Syracuse.

Jim Lee was named to the Syracuse University All Century Team in 2000, and was inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
