im doing a report on harry houdini and he died because a colledge kid asked if he could punch harry and he said yes because he let people do it all the time but he didnt get a chance to get ready and broke something in his stomche and died sad i know but does anyone know WHERE his grave is like is it in wisconsin appleton or somethin?

Houdini died Oct 31th 1926 in Chicago, by peritonitis, after a week at the hospital. He was 52. Many people believes that it was caused by a punch at the stomach a college gave him during an inteview for their student's newspaper, but this is uncertain because appendicitis is caused by an infection.

He is buried at the Machpelah cementery, at Queens, NY. His funeral was Nov 04th 1926, and over 2000 persons attend to it.

I read somewhere, i dont remember where, that he trick his death, the article say, he die years later, does somebody know something ? I just wonder ? i dont think its true, but this is a world of posibilities.

You're right. One of the latest version talk about he was really a spy, and used his fame and skills as escape performer to obtain secret information from other countries he was touring (WW1 years). So, to protect himself, he faked his death, and died many years later we were told.

It would be so much his style. Besides, he played a spy: "Haldane of the Secret Service", on his own movies.

But with figures like him is hard to define where the man ends and starts the myth.

Really thought he accepted it because he challenged people to try punch him and if he falls or something like that they get something but hey we dong know the truth we weren't there =P

@cheeseman0822 I'm pretty sure he was. From what I know, the student came into the room, asked Houdini if his statement about being able to take any punch above the waist was true, and Houdini said yes. The student then proceeded to punch him 3 times in the stomach before Houdini had the chance to tighten his stomach muscles and prepare himself. The student managed to punch him several more times before he began to show pain.

I don't think so houdini accepted the offer of being punched in the stomach he can't really be arrested for something if the victim said it was okay
