  • English Translation:This is like olives, you have to like to enjoy ... The truth is that it falls a bit short in conveying feelings but it's something ... The Righteous Bs (or producer) saw something in it and have given us a superb version (improving the present

  • Was this the only appearance of the song in the film? It seems so short.

  • @JacobDragyn

Sadly yes, near the end of the film.(63 mins of a 72 min film)

  • In my opinion rightous brothers version is much better :)

  • THANK YOU so very much for posting this. It's especially fascinating since I've never had the chance to see the movie. All I know it's called "Unchained" because it's about some people getting out of prison & trying to start a new life. Though this is an arrangement of the song we're not used to hearing, it's quite exquisite & heartwarming. Probably mostly due to Mr Duncan's sincere vocal stylings. You've MADE my day & my week! :-)

  • @JubalCalif, this is the absolute original of this song. It was written collaboratively & Mr Todd Duncan sang it for the movie UNCHAINED. This's the very FIRST. What you hear @ the end are the chords "The Ink Spots" used to begin ALL their songs wth. Heehee. Yeah, I'm 45 & know all of this only due to my Pater. The Righteous Brothers & more than 500 versions after that, weren't the original as most would believe. This was. I wish, I wish I could find it in DVD&CD format to buy. How very lovely.

  • This version is almost comical.

He sounds as if he's hurrying to get through it,and there's no feeling to the lyrics.

  • @cf1934 Thanks for that got it and heard it, although I prefer his ballads, but it's as usual good.

  • @tarcybabe John Gary sang it.

  • @cf1934 tried you tube but not sure if I've got the right title, who's the singer? [Bells ring]

  • It was nominated for an academy award - and it was 1955

  • @swan2610 This song was a hit before the Righteous Brothers came along! Les Baxter, Al Hibbler and my favorite, Roy Hamilton.

  • @tarcybabe I have it. It's on John Gary's Catch A rising Star. Have you heard "Bells Ring?" It's on youtube. I really like it!

  • @cf1934 Did you find it?

  • Every one has their own opinion and I agree that Roy Hamilton is good but I still like al Hibbler. As to the Righteous brothers Naaa. I had a dj over in Iowa argue with me that the Righteous brothers sang it first. Never heard of the Righteous brothers in 1953
