80% of Adults in Canadian town addicted to Oxycontin. The town is Fort Hope Ontario, a first nations reserve. Oxycontin was introduced only a few yeats ago but it has absolutley killing this community. 80% of the adults nd some kids even, as young as 13 are addicted to the drug. Police got 21,000 calls in 2010. Violence and arson and other crimes are on the rise due mostly to this drug. 21,000 calls in 1 year in a town of 1,200 people. They have no programs to help them with addiction. they have to apply to other addiction centres in other parts of canada and sometimes the applications are rejected and they have to try again somewhere else. It can take years to get into a rehab centre.

Just leave them alone. If they kill themselves off, oh well. If they get their shit together they might be of worthy genetics. People need to stop being such bleeding hearts. where does the federal funding go on these reserves. there are some band members that are in charge of a community of less then 3000 people that make more then the prime minister. maybe they should get into action with the money they are provided
