If impatient, the best 30 seconds of the concert starts at 0:50. Saturday Night, May 2, 2009, in New York City. Per Time Out New York, "If you believe the blogs, it's BSS who stole the show at Coachella ... the style is an African take on Brazilian baile funk, which found its way to Portugal via Lisbon's immigrant Angolan community."

  • \o/ \o/ Som Sistemaaaaaaaa

  • What a fun concert! I never get tired of watching everyone jump up.

  • Folks in NYC sure do use a lot of swear words.

  • You mean me? I'm originally from Connecticut and we swear like muleskinners. Little known fact, but Connecticut was first settled by muleskinners, who swore a lot, hence the phrase. Connecticut almost went with, "The Muleskinner State" as the state nickname, but opted for "The Nutmeg State" since Ye Better Business Bureau thought it might hurt, "thee tourist traddes".

  • Fado imported from Brasil????

    Are you crazy??

  • @fulani31

Well thats not truth, cuz "we" sing fado even before Vasco da Gama discover the brazil. I know wut im talking about, so stop saying that.

  • @fulani31 Dubstep comes from garage and drum n bass originally had its roots in acid house, turned to jungle, THEN to dnb.

  • @fulani31 DnB and Dubstep are not "subgenres" any more than Kuduro is. It's funny how you so blatantly put double standards to genres so it fits your "views".

And that documentary you watched was wrong: Fado was originally sung by seamen, and it's closely linked to the Portuguese concept of "saudade". It wasn't "brought to Portugal" by anyone, and only exists in Portugal.

I'm not hating on you, but you obviously try to downplay european musical relevance by saying things that are incorrect.

  • @schizoidchimp...

about fado I thought the same as you until I watched a portuguese documentary on it and they said fado was brought over by brazilian slaves who came with a king(can't remember his name), but regardless I do feel fado was perfected in Portugal. DnB, Dubstep etc are sub-genres kind of like Italo Pop lol.
