(Juliet's POV)
I stood in the hallway as Sassy adjusted my hairclip.
I sighed as I thought about what I was about to go through with.
"Good luck, Jules." Sassy smiled slightly, handing my bouquet.
I nodded before hearing high heels clacking in a running beat.
I turn my head to see Alina and Joe running in.
"Good luck, babe." Alina panted, throwing her arms around me. "Remember, WHATEVER you choose to do, I'm right behind you." Alina reminded.
"Ditto." Sassy agreed.
"Come on, love." Joe urged Alina, pulling her into the chapel.
"Are you ready?" My dad asked as he looped his arm through mine.
"No." I sighed.
And just as I said that, the ceremony began.
Sassy and Rochely are my bridesmaids so they walked ahead of me.
'Canon in the key of C' began and I walked up the aisle.
I took one step after another, wishing this was all a nightmare I could wake up from.
I looked up at the alter to see James with that sick, oily grin of his.
I sighed as I made it to the alter.
James took my hands in his and gazed into my eyes.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God to join these two youthful souls in holy matrimony." The pastor started.
Soon I heard a door slam, but I ignored it.
(Nick's POV)
I sat in the benches, hoping Juliet wouldn't notice me
I tried to hold back tears, but as James took Juliet's hands, I couldn't handle it.
I stormed out of the church.
Tears streamed down my face.
I pulled out my cellphone and called the cab company.
"Hello, Dallas Taxi Co., how may I help you?" A woman answered.
"Uh, I'd like to be picked up from Calvary Chapel on Norwood Way." I sniffled.
"We'll be there in 15 minutes." The woman promised, then hung up.
"Juliet was mine, but I let her slip through my fingers." I thought as I sat on the curb. "She's gone for good. She's marrying James."
My thoughts were inturrupted by someone sitting down next to me.
I turned my head to see a little boy.
"Hi." He smiled widely.
"Hey." I croaked.
"My names is Jake and I'm 7." He introduced. "What about you?"
"Nick and 17."
"Why are you sad?" Jake asked.
"You wouldn't understand." I sighed.
"Why do people assume that just because I'm a kid, means I don't understand things?!" Jake ranted.
"Why are you grumpy?" I quizzed.
"The school bully, Aaron, stole my bike." Jake huffed, then pulling out a lollipop and began licking it. "Ya want one?" Jake reached into his pocket and pulled out another lollipop.
"Sure." I shrugged, taking the lollipop.
I unwrapped it, shoved the plastic wrapper in my pocket, and put the candy in my mouth.
"Ya really wanna know?" I exhaled.
Jake nodded.
"Okay, so there's this girl I like, and I was gonna marry her, but there's another guy who is gonna marry her instead." I admitted.
"Wow." Jake gasped. "That's a lot like my bike problem."
"I guess you're right." I chuckled lightly.
"Well, you should go get the girl back, and I'm gonna go beat up Aaron... AND GET MY BIKE BACK!"
"Good luck, man."
"Bye!" Jake called as he walked down the street.
