By Imaam Muhammad Naasirud-Deen al-Albaanee [d. 1420H]
A lecture built around the question, 'What is the share'ah ruling on these numerous Islaamic groups, sects and organisations as they are different from each other in their methodologies, styles, calls and beliefs, the very foundations that they are established upon. In regards to the hadeeth that proves that the group that adheres to the truth is only a single group?'
Review:
A magnanimous answer delivered over the course of an hour by the mountain of knowledge in his time, al-Imaam, Muhammad Naasirud-Deen al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah).
From 'Awf Ibn Maalik (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: ''The Jews will split into seventy-one sects, so one will be in Paradise and seventy will be in the Fire. And the Christians will split into seventy-two sects, so seventy-one will be in the Fire, and one will be in Paradise. Any by the One in whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, my Ummah shall split into seventy-three sects, and one will be in Paradise and seventy-two will be in the Fire.'' It was said: 'Who are they O Messenger of Allaah?' He said: ''The Jamaa'ah.''
Allaah the Blessed, the Most High - said:
"And hold fast altogether to the rope of Allaah and do not be divided. And remember the favour of Allaah upon you, in that you were once enemies to one another, but He joined your hearts together, so that by His Grace you became brothers." [Soorah Aali-'Imraan 3:103]
