So we used guns against arrows? That is fighting "like men"? Native American people were massacred and mutilated by the settlers. Don't forget that. By many accounts, yes, Native Americans did also kidnap white women. But unlike white men, they did not abuse or rape their captives. Native Americans are not the dirty savages they were sterotyped to be. It was not a war, but a colonization and subsequent genocide of the people that once lived freely on this land.

First, United States Native Americans are not Indigenous. We are individuals from different tribes, and it is our Tribal names that identify who we are. Indigenous is a term to further scrub away our identity. Indigenous is a plant in the desert. A rock on the moon. Ducks in Canada. Indigenous is a term to mold us into all the foreigners in Mexico and South America, so they can say "hey, Im native american". Mexicans are Mexicans, dont ride our coat tails.

If i may say so, I have been to the states many, many times, and even lived there for 2 years. and i thought i had seen misery and poverty when i went to india ! I guess i was wrong, coz when i saw some reservations, i thought the 3rd world had suddenly come there. I had to conclude that i still ahve no idead of what the american dream is, or what being americans means. in my view, it means to oppress the weak, starting with their very own people, ending with palestine.
