3 of 3 parts: At Saturday's peaceful demonstration, a couple who were anti-Vietnam war protesters said that a guest lecturer at a local university in February had mentioned that queer rights is one of the most important civil rights issues of this generation. In response to that, they said they wanted to stand in solidarity with all the youth gathered.
Thanks for all the support! May peace & justice prevail.

2 of 3 parts:Thanks to all the individuals and student groups who delivered through their participation very important social justice messages that as a community, (1) we reject hate and bigotry, (2) we stand in solidarity with our LGBTQI brothers and sisters, and (3) beyond tolerance, our community embraces the contributions, perspectives and experiences of LGBTQI individuals

1 of 3 parts: It was students in my class that organized the peaceful demonstration in response to Westboro Baptist Church's call to picket OLLU's Laramie Project. Their actions respond to two powerful quotes to act: (1) "Evil prevails when good men do nothing" by Edmund Burke and (2) "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" by Martin Luther Kind, Jr.

@bballfreak1129 Really? I heard they got turned away from campus, but I didn't know if it was true or not. Also, I went to watch the play, and no one started anything. It was a pretty uneventful evening.

@depfox Thanks. I'm glad you are proud of me. You're like the gay dad I never had. Another reason I was disappointed they never showed up is that I wanted to stand up to them and be all heroic.
