Veterinarians at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium say a baby dolphin born two weeks ago is male. The aquarium debuted the baby Pacific white-sided dolphin calf to photographers Tuesday. (June 12)

    Well, that's one method! There are actually three. First one is they just rest in the water by just floating horizontally or vertically underwater, they sleep by swimming slowly with other dolphins, and the third method, which you said, floating on the surface of the water. All of this by still only letting one half of their brain sleep at a time :D

    Yes, dolphins are mammals, like us, meaning they give birth to live young, breathe air, have hair or fur, and produce milk for their young! It's very tiny, but dolphins do have hairs! How do they sleep? Well, they have to be conscious when they breathe so they let only one half of their brain sleep at a time! Quite amazing isn't it! :D
