Bob Kuban played the drums and led the band out of St. Louis, but the lead vocalist was Walter Scott. In February of 1966, they went all the way to #12 with this recording, but never charted again. The lead singer, Walter Scott, was the victim of a homicide some years later in one of the most ironic twists of fate in music history...his wife at the time colluded with her "lover" to have him killed.

  • damn I thought they were black, but this is proof that white folks have soul.

  • This song has has the sound of the diddly boppers from the mid sixties. Guys with black pegged pants, DA's and white socks and girls with bee hive hair dos and skirts -tight or a -line. Growing up with the coolest music ever made on earth! I loved this song. It was was when kids whjen out to dance and do the drive in circuits. It has such an uplifting sound, even though the lyrics may not be so positive. America's young people are getting screwed by todays globalist rap promoters .

  • what an ironic twist considering the title of their song

  • epgrove1961...are you nuts? No one deserves to be murdered..that's an insult to anyone who has lost a family member who was murdered, in my case they didn't even know who he was, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time in the late afternoon.

  • This is the real midwest sound opf the 60s. I met them many times on the road. Sir Walter was a really nice guy. I can remember when he disappeared. It was several years later when they found him in a well at his home. This was before BS&T or Chicago. This sound which was popularized by these guys, Spider and the Crabs, the Breakers and probably most notably the Fabulous Flippers is the sound of the Mid-60s from North Dakota to Oklahoma.
