@nitescuiustin Yeah, any decent instructor will caution his students to be careful in those joint locks. An achilles lock or footlock (as it's termed here) is OK to be a bit rough with 'cause it won't cause any joints to break. Sounds like you just got a dumbass who wasn't taking the proper precautions, and, yes, I know you can snap someone's leg very quickly in a leglock.

@kommisar trust the guy - just happened to me. And don't think "oh, you should tap"... if done quick and explosive by some idiot in sparring (when you don't even expect) you will have 0 time to tap! So BJJ is over for a long time ....

@kommisar dude i rolled my ankle about 3 weeks ago and damnnnn i can still feel some pain at a certain range of motion
