David Yeagley, Comanche Indian composer; "The Writhing of Earth Worms Under a Great, Uplifted Rock," 1st Movement of a trio for Oboe, Viola, and Bassoon. It is contrapuntal (Baroque) music in style, contemporary in harmony. Performed by members of the Contempoary Music Forum: Mark Christianson, oboe; James Stern, viola, and Chris Jewell, bassoon, at the National Museum of the American Indian, October 8, 2006.

  • Why did I ask who Rudy's family was? I just got the distinct feeling he wasn't Indian. Why that feeling? Not sure. More than one reason. I wanted to know who he was. He never would say. You're a good sport, MercifulMe.

  • I hope to have a recording of my duet for oboe and bassoon made this November at the NMAI. "Three Spirit Dances on the Bark of an Ancient Stump." Three movements, contrapuntal as well. Some fine bassoon playing it will be!
