@RedScarlettStudios Elvis definitely absorbed the black music and culture he saw around him and was never shy about crediting it....but he also was greatly influenced by white gospel music, Bill Monroe's bluegrass, Bing Crosby and various country music....what made Elvis unique and special was the way he synthesized all these elements...his version of "That's Alright Mama" most people recognize is better and more unique than Arthur Crudup's original version...
