For a small fee of AU$10- I am happy to offer my assistance with verifying whether a piece is genuine or fake. I will also advise the name of the item, any history and I will include photos from any sources I have available - ie. old LV catalgoues, Japanese market magazines.

The results will be sent in an email PLUS I will make a short YOUTUBE clip where I discuss your item.

This is the first item I have been asked to verify.

Please email me at:-
hiromi_kirishima@yahoo.com

Kind regards,

  • @batmanandbobbin louis vuitton started as a luggage company. The first thing he ever made was a flat trunk similar to this one in the video. Back in the 1800's everyone travelled on large ships. Every other trunk at the time had a rounded top. LV became popular because they were easy to stack on each other and they were the first flat luggage and were actually airtight! they were so airtight that louis vuitton luggage was the ONLY luggage to survive the titanic.

  • I thought that these were used as displays to hold other items in display cases in stores. I didn't think that they were for sale. Most I've seen have been empty inside, without trays, etc. I always thought these were just special for the stores to have on display & not for sale...kind of like a concept piece. I assume that salespeople and managers could have acquired one...Most are very basic in terms of hardware & stitching, too, so I thought that they weren't constructed for use as luggage.

  • I HAVE A PC. JUST LIKE THIS BUT MINE HAS A CANVAS COVER WITH LEATHER CORNERS AND BUTTONS UP THE SIDE AND TOP. ALSO LOUIS VUITTON PARIS MADE IN FRANCE IS STAMPED ON THE LEATHER BY THE HANDLE HOLE ON THE COVER.. IT ALSO HAS HINGES ON THE INTERIOR TO HOLD THE LID UP. IT HAS NO INTERIOR COMPONENTS LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED.. VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A FEW INDENTATIONS.. IN EVERY OTHER WAY JUST LIKE THIS ONE YOUR DESCRIBING.. I WILL GET YOU SOME PHOTOS SOON.. RALPH

  • Great stuff my friend! Love what you are doing... good videos too! RR
