I played in a band with Mike back in the mid 70s. I think he was about 17 at the time. I was impressed with his steel guitar playing then as I am now. Not so impressed with his chess playing. :-) Great going Mike.
I toured with Mike 40 years ago and he was dedicated and excellent then, seems to have got even better. Always had a heart for steel and dobro. love ya mike,
Absolutely great steel playing, and Ken takes a tasteful guitar break.......I really miss Jerry Moore on the fiddle...he was a fantastic musician and a super nice guy.
Mike played on a couple songs on my first Nashville album, just came in and sat down and did it. He was so laid back he put me at ease immediately. The whole bunch was great to work with and asked me what I wanted for backup sounds, etc. Later I finished the album with Pete Finney, who was also great to work with. The good guys usually are. Also had Johnaton Yudkin and Buddy Spicher on fiddle, Kenny Malone, Ken Frenzetta and some other guys on different cuts. What a great memory.
Ouch, excellent E9th playing!

Mike has always been an incredible musician, and still is one of the greats. It's all about melody.
