All that fence you see spanning our countryside eventually ages into uselessness and has to be dismantled. Rolling up fence wire by hand is drudgerous work and not a little bit given to hand punctures. Our answer was our 1950's Gravely walk-behind tractor's rotary plow shaft extended up instead of down with a disc blade over it as a wire guide. It worked beautifully and our metals recycler will receive the old-wire "doilies" and be glad for them at today's metals prices.

  • That looks like a nice user friendly ball of wire it was making ‹(•¿•)›

  • It sure was, especiall given that all you have to do is knock the pin out of the middle and it is ready to go to the recycler!

  • That's a great idea. I have a 57 Gravely L that I've been playing with. Been thinking about making a stump grinder for it or a chipper.
