Some friends and I sing Cantique de Jean Racine in quartet. Cantique de Jean Racine (Op. 11) is a work for mixed chorus and piano or organ by Gabriel Fauré. Written by the nineteen year old composer in 1864-5, the piece won Fauré the first prize when he graduated from the École Niedermeyer and was first performed the following year on August 4, 1866, with accompaniment of strings and organ. It was first published around 1875 or 1876 (Schoen, Paris, as part of the series Echo des Maîtrises) and appeared in a version for orchestra (possibly by the composer) in 1906.

  • Good, but the tenor seemed to fall flat often.

  • Brave to sing with so few voices. Obviously not to be undertaken by amateurs! Nicely executed.

  • Ce n'est pas toujours juste....

  • je l'ai tellement chanté ce chant... il est magnifique.

Votre prononciation est plutôt bonne, et la musicalité, elle, est bien présente. Bravo.

  • You can hear the lovely words in this version which is more than you can in anyone elses so thanks. However the singers don't sound as excited about them as they could be. How lovely to be able to just all stand around and sing this like that though. (But I think the words are really very exciting indeed.)

  • soprano is dead on. awesome dynamics and everything. yeah the tenor and alto fade out sometimes, but all together and awesome performance. was definitely satisfied; this piece is one of my favorites!

  • that was good.. i would like it a little slower..TO me. i think you wouldve heard the harmoney more in feelings to me

  • the soprano is nice. tenor? hmm.

    nice going though guys
