This Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation brief video explains how the current tax system is deeply flawed and argues that either the flat tax or the national sales tax (sometimes known as the Fair Tax) would be a substantial improvement over the current internal revenue code. However, the video warns that a sales tax should only be adopted if the Constitution is amended to prevent politicians from imposing both an income tax and sales tax, similar to what happened in Europe. I prefer the sales tax because it eliminates tax filing by citizens. Merchants already collect sales tax at the point of sale. Include the national sales tax at the point of sale. Virtually eliminate the IRS which is an out of control agency reminiscent of secret police in a 3rd world country

I don't think you're quite getting the revenue neutral aspect. You are familiar with the monthly prebate? Fair Tax broadens the tax base exponentially. Not only that, there is no rise in current pricing of products.

I'm quite familiar with it. Can you let me know what you think I'm not understanding?

It's apparent that you don't quite understand the Fair Tax. Learn it first, then compare.

We need the Fair Tax, like, yesterday. Good grief, the amount of disinformation about it is astounding. Makes me wonder if it's the simple dynamics of it that boggles the mind due to people being so used to having such a complex tax code.

With The Neutral Tax, we don't need to make a once-size-fits-all decision at the federal level. It lets the people of the states decide the best tax system and adjust/change those systems over time as required. And it gets rid of the IRS! Read more about The Neutral Tax at neutraltax (dot) com

2.Transparency- a very much needed asset right now, government needs to be regulated by its people and that cant be done when your being controlled by the "secret police" (IRS,CRA), most people I talk to always talk negatively about the CRA and lets face it, there is always that 50c you forgot to claim and even if you didn't they can still "make" that 50c appear and there is nothing you can do about it even if you prove them wrong in court...

even though I'm from Canada I'll throw my 2 cent in (cause change will happen here if it happens in America)

I'm in favor for a national sales tax for two main reasons:

    1. no more "or else"! true democracy is about choice and freedom, even if its the choice to disengage or not participate. I'm tired of people whispering like they are doing something wrong when they are just trying to make a living best they can.

    continue---
