  • After reading the website I venture that this process is actually healthier than astronaut food.

  • @Prinze2002 LOL Yes if you put better food in the bag than they do? Retort canning is only one way of using this unit. It will also seal all types of vacuum bags and mylar, it has gas flush as standard feature as well as soft air. It has a dry cycle for the pump to protect it from moisture when sealing wet products. That is just a few of the extra features that come standard with this unit.

  • @Prinze2002 Yes as long as one puts better quality food in the bag. LOL The process results are the same as what one can buy in a can in the store. Taste, texture, flavor, color, all resemble a canned product from any leading food supplier. The benefit is the ingredients can be organic, no salt, more salt, non organic, what ever suits the person making the food decisions.

  • That thing looks like it weighs a tonnnn! Does it take two people to lift? What is the warranty on it? Also looks expensive to fix. Will the warranty cover my food if it is defective?

  • @Prinze2002 Sammic units have a full 2 year manufactures warranty. The food you package is not covered by a warranty.

  • @ikeepsitrealz If you are retorting canning dehydrated or freeze dry foods, 20 plus years is good as long as the bag does not sustain damage.

  • i think I might order one next year for my restaurant and let my taxes pay for it.

  • @ikeepsitrealz on the website list the foods.

  • seems like a cool idea for the military! Is there any specific foods that can't be retorted?
