  • If FUNimation kept the Ocean dub in, it would just screw things up. How can they release it uncut? Their inhouse dub that first started with the 68th episode was meant to be uncut, and only edited for broadcast. The music may have changed, and the dialogue may have been inaccurate, but the scenes are uncut. The dvds are uncut. They redubbed the first 67 episodes to be consistent with voices, and episode numbering. Plus, they can release it all uncut.

  • @GreggMays64 I didn't have a problem with the uncut box sets,I actually like those,it was the crappy uncut TV version they showed on Cartoonnetwork in place of the Ocean Dub,the music was awful and I'm not taling about Falconer or the orginal japanesse.

  • BECAUSE EVERYONE LOVED THE OCEAN DUBS, BECAUSE THEY WERE SO FUCKING CLOSE TO THE MANGA, Even though that was crap and shit and added things that didn't tie things to the actual story, and funimation had a better understanding to the lore of the story. Like Vegeta spitting out that Bardock created the fake moon technique in the Ocean dub. Wrong Wrong Wrong Wrong.

  • @gohanRULEZ Exactly.

  • Kai is accurate. It's practically the manga up to the Cell arc.

  • You didn't explain anything. All you did was was waste 3:03 of your life and anyone else who watches this video. Congratulations Doug, you've just proven what everyone has known about you since day one, that you know nothing about Dragon Ball. Go on, take a bow, get you award statue, and make your acceptance speech.

  • @doug8798 The music you heard was by Nathan Johnson. He did episodes 1-67 because Bruce Faulconer got fired before they could redub those episodes.

None of the Ocean dubs (but the first three movies), nor FUNimation (but DB to some extent, and DBK) were good dubs. They all had problems of their own. Their common ones is their inaccurate dialogue.

  • @doug8798 They've fired Bruce Faulconer before DBGT. The uncut TV version aired to promote the singles dvds for the first 67 episodes of DBZ. They already released everything passed episode 67, and because episode 1-67 had different voice actors and was heavily edited (no unuct), they redubbed it. So now they can release singles, just like the others and be consistent. They still aired the Ocean dub after that.

  • There are three Ocean dubs. One that has FUNimation in charge, which was the first sixty seven episodes, and the third movie. FUNimation also had the first 13 episodes of DB dubbed aswell as the first movie. Then there is the Ocean dub of the first three movies uncut. Then we have the dub Westwood Media was in charge of, which was episodes 123-291. Westwood Media had DB and DBGT dubbed with a different voice studio.
