By the last week of hunting season the kitchen window failed to produce
meat this year, so I had to go out with a friend by horseback a days ride to get it. I still love my life in Alaska.

  • What is the deal on the hunting permits there? Do you need a permit or can you just go out and shoot? Would be nice to think there is some sort of controlled cull taking place.

  • @ivankinsman

Moose hunting season starts on Aug 20 and then the last day is Sept 20.

Only spike/ fork or 50" or bigger, or 3 brow tines. Yes a permit is needed even if you are a resident.
