"pushing" a big cedar near Kyuquot Sound on Vancouver Island. The front section which is still green, comes free leaving the larger, dead portion still standing and difficult to fall. More cutting and two more "pushers" and it (fortunately) went down too. I was too freaked to stick around for the dramatic last shot. The whole thing leaned back uphill into a ravine.
good cutting good job you oviasly know what you are doing

actually it was almost a colossal screw-up. Brother Mike decided where to put the undercut and after some arguing, we agreed. He threw a 3' cedar at it and the front section peeled off with the undercut leaving the larger, back part with no undercut leaning back. He hit that twice more and thank God, it went over.

you're right. There were three of us there, but one faller can make the final decision. I checked the undercut on the last pusher tree (as requested) and it hit the big cedar dead on and all went well. The last resort would have been a visit by the blaster. Are you working yourself?
