Olympic lift clean & jerk - 135 lb. single

I'm relatively new to the Olympic lifts. Today I performed 8 singles of 135 lb. clean & jerk, working on technique. My squat clean looks poor to me but my split jerk seems a little better. Give me constructive comments please - I am 52 years old.

  • clean and jerk is more functional then regular bicep curls

  • Like some others have said, you just need to get under the bar faster. Pull the bar up as high as you can and then split to get under it. Bar should be stationary while you move to get under it. What you did actually took more strength, though haha.

  • keep the bar closer to your body, and get under the bar faster... besides that, good lift

  • you dont drop the weights, u respect them

  • depends on your goals. alot of people advocate use of broomsticks to learn technique but i think ridiculously light weight teaches the body wrong movments

  • Maybe just a little more extension from the hips and knees and you will be golden!
